Jono Gates is an Evangelist, Pastor, and leader with a passion to see people awakened to the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Born and raised in Minneapolis, MN, Jono grew up surrounded by the local church and experienced firsthand the impact of authentic discipleship and Spirit-filled community. That foundation would eventually shape his call to ministry and ignite a lifelong desire to help others encounter God.

Jono attended North Central University, where he studied ministry and developed a deeper conviction for preaching the Gospel with clarity, boldness, and compassion. After graduating, he stepped into full-time ministry at Rochester Assembly in Rochester, MN, serving faithfully as the Student Pastor. During those years, Jono invested deeply into the next generation—preaching weekly, discipling students, leading teams, and cultivating a culture where young people could experience God in a real and transformative way.

Yet after years of fruitful ministry in the local church, Jono sensed a stirring from the Holy Spirit—a call to step out of comfort, trust God at a new level, and take the Gospel beyond the walls of one church. After much prayer, counsel, and confirmation, Jono took a step of faith into full-time traveling evangelism. In December 2021, Jono Gates Ministries was officially established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, marking the beginning of a new chapter of preaching the Gospel nationwide.

Today, Jono travels across the country preaching at churches, camps, conferences, and ministries of all sizes. His preaching is marked by a passionate delivery, a clear presentation of the Gospel, and a strong expectation for the Holy Spirit to move. Whether speaking to students, young adults, or multigenerational congregations, Jono’s heartbeat is the same: to see people saved, healed, restored, and awakened to their God-given purpose.

Jono carries a deep desire to see all generations experience a genuine move of God—a move marked not just by emotional moments, but by lasting transformation, repentance, renewal, and a demonstration of God’s power. He believes the Church is called to more than passive faith; it is called to live boldly, walk in purity, hear the voice of God, and advance the Kingdom with confidence.

Beyond the platform, Jono is known for his authenticity, relational leadership, love for the local church, and conviction that God still speaks, still moves, and still sends. His life message is simple but profound: Jesus is still changing lives, and your best days are ahead of you when you follow Him wholeheartedly.
